WATER-RESISTANT CEMENT PLASTER
Cement plaster is a classic material for rough finishing. Mixtures based on cement and sand rightfully occupy a leading position among solutions of this category,
since they are characterized by the highest strength characteristics, moisture resistance and long service life. In this material, we will consider the features of the composition
and the technology of its application.
Cement–based plaster is intended for rough finishing – leveling of building structures, elimination of masonry defects, cracks and other flaws.
Also, the plaster coating serves as a solid foundation for subsequent finishing. Plaster walls with cement-sand mortar can be carried out inside and outside buildings for various
purposes – whether residential, public and commercial buildings or industrial facilities.
Density – compositions that do not contain additives (for example, thermal insulation or other – facilitating) belong to the category of heavy solutions with a specific gravity in solidified form
in the range of 1600-1800 kg/ m3. The ultimate compressive strength can range from 2.5 to 12 MPa, depending on the cement grade used and the ratio of components.
The adhesion strength to the base is from 0.4 MPa. The maximum thickness of the layer applied at 1 time is up to 40 mm. When using reinforcing metal or fiberglass
mesh layer thickness can be increased up to 70 mm. The viability of the prepared solution is usually from 30 minutes to 3 hours, it all depends on the composition.
Frost resistance is usually 30-100 cycles of freezing/thawing. Shelf life – depending on environmental conditions from 6 months to 1 year without loss of physical and mechanical properties.
The recommended application temperature is at least +5 °C. But today there are special winter mixes on sale that you can work with at a slight sub-zero temperature
(usually not lower than -10 °C).
